MYRRHA is intended as a multi-purpose machine. Ranging from material and new nuclear fuel irradiations to training and education, the machine is conceived to take into account all these applications. Trying to be the first operational ADS is an application an sich: learning to work with and ADS, improving the operational rules and methods. The possibility to pinch of some of the proton beam for proton irradiation is also in mind. |
