Due to the opaque nature of liquid metal, proper handling of fuel assemblies under liquid metal and inspection of the core region can only be assured by means of ultrasonic imaging techniques. Together with Kaunas University of Technology, LBE compatible and radiation hard ultrasonic imaging sensors are being developed. |
